Clothing Closets
Our Clothing Closets opened in February 2009. Board members, Hartsville High School Beta Club members and a host of volunteers have worked to fill clothing vouchers submitted by the schools. Foster parents are also encouraged to shop at our Carolina Kids Closets.
At these closets, when a child comes in with a clothes voucher, they will recieve enough clothes to get them through 1 week of school. In this way, clothes may be washed and reused each week if needed. This includes: 5 shirts, 5 pairs of pants, underwear, socks, and one pair of shoes. As of this 2009-2010 school year, 750 children have recieved new clothing!
The “Prom” closet housed at the Children’s Closet site is up and running. High school students, both girls and boys, will be able to select an outfit for this special occasion. The closet is open by appointment only and is located on the campus of Thornwell School for the Arts behind the Adult Education building on the corner of West Carolina Avenue and Eighth Street.
Vouchers can be obtained at any school in the district. A Carolina Kids volunteer will contact families to set up an appointment. We are currently looking for volunteers for the Kids' Closet. If interested, please call 843-639-7239.
We are accepting gently used children's clothing. Clothing items can be left in the metal donation bin on the porch at the Kids' Closet.

We'd like to send a special thank you to North Hartsville Elementary whose students donated over 100 pairs of pajamas to commemorate their 100th day of school! Our programs would not exist without willing donors like yourselves!
